Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This bike is from my personal collection. This bike was once known as Purple Haze. The bike has a S&S stroker flywheels, S&S bored 0.40 over 12and a half two one pop up pistons, Andrews racing cams. Heads have been polished and flowed with bigger valves put in. It has a S&S super E carb on it.The bike has accel coil and 8mm wires on it. The bike has high performance clutches too.The front lower forks are chrome and the oil tank is chrome and the front dual disc calipers is chrome. The bike has a 3.2 gas tank on it. The bike was converted to electric start. I bought the bike 15 years ago and we used to take it out on the town and race other bikes for money. This bike has won many of street races and races at harley partys and it has won many of burn out contest. The bike is super fast. I blowed the bike up 14 years ago and i payed out almost 4,000 dollars to have the bike rebuilt again. After that i very seldom ever raced it again. The bike has around 100 horse at the rear wheel or better and it has over 100 pounds of torgue at the rear wheel. I have had the bike in the garage and never rode it for over 10 years after i had kids. Just about a few weeks ago i sent it out to the shop and spent around 725 dollars to have the carb rebuilt from setting and I had a new battery put in and i had the master cylinder and calipers rebuilt and the back brake was rebuilt too. I have the front fender to the bike too. I took it off years ago cause i thought it looked better without it. The bike runs excellent. I am older now and I dont need something fast and wild like this no more. The tires on the bike are in excellent shape. The bike will probaly need a good polishing to make her really shine. The bike does leak a little oil when it sets for a long time which is typical for an old iron head. The oil spot it leaves is no bigger than a quarter. The title on the bike says it has 27,322 miles on it. But I know it only has around 3000 miles on it. Cause like I said I had it rebuilt about 14 years ago. This Bike runs Excellent and it is scary fast.  Any questions call 567 674 5393. I don't do emails so if your serious please call. 567 674 5393. Thanks and happy bidding

The American Motorcyclist Association has bestowed a special recognition award to Zero Motorcycles and its Vice President of Marketing, Hall-of-Famer Scot Harden, for their work in attracting new riders and the positive impact they’ve delivered to mainstream media. Harden (pictured above from our recent Zero FX dirt riding review) and Zero were awarded the AMA Bessie Stringfield Award which recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in bringing emerging markets to motorcycling. The award is named after 2002 AMA Hall of Fame inductee Bessie Stringfield, the first African-American woman to ride solo across the United States and a civilian motorcycle dispatch rider for the army in World War II.

Pope Francis To Auction Harley-Davidson For Charity

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

During Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary celebrations earlier this year, Pope Francis was given not one, but two Harley-Davidsons, a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic and Dyna Super Glide Custom. Not one for gaudy excess (or a motorcycle ride for that matter), Pope Francis has decided to put both up for auction. Specifically, the Pope has donated the bikes to the Caritas charity near Rome.
