Harley-Davidson Softail description

2008 Harley Davidson Softail Rocker FXCW

I am the second owner of the bike and purchased it in March of 2013.

At the time of purchase, the bike had 1,904 miles on it. It currently has about 4,300 miles on it.

As you can see from the pictures, the bike has been gone through and it very tastefully done.

Engine:
  • The bike came stock with a 96 engine. The previous owner had the following upgrades done:
  • Roland Sands Stage I Air Cleaner
  • Power Commander V
  • Vance and Hines Big Radius Exhaust
  • 103 Screaming Eagle Upgrade Kit
  • Screaming Eagle 103 Heads built by Head Designs By Hewey in Edgewood, Washington with:
    • Smith Pushrods
    • Screaming Eagle 103" Flat Top Pistons
    • Wood TX408-44-6 Cam
    • 1.94" Intake and 1.625 Exhaust Screaming Eagle Valves
  • Chrome Primary Cover
  • Chrome Derby Cover
  • Chrome Cam Cover
I have the Dyno sheet that shows 121.8 ft-lbs of Torque and 108.1 Horsepower

Chassis:
  • Arlen Ness Matching:

    • Foot Pegs
    • Shifter Peg
    • Front Brake Reservoir Cover

  • Harley Davidson Front Fork Bag specifically for the FXCW (Part Number 92352-08)
  • Heartland Rocker Rear Axle Covers
Body:
As you can see from the photos, much of the Rocker gray has been removed.
  • The following items were professional Powder Coated Gloss Black:
    • Front and Rear Wheels
    • Rear Wheel Pulley
    • Rear Run/Brake/Turn signals
    • Oil Tank
    • Tank Console
    • Speedo Cup
    • Front Headlight and trim ring
  • Harley Davidson Flush-Mount Fuel Cap and Gauge Kit (Part Number 75020-08C)
  • Harley Davidson Chrome Voltage Regulator Cover (Part Number 74597-01)
  • Rear Fender was professional shortened and painted
  • Custom Dynamics High Intensity LED Strip mounted under rear lip of rear fender for stealth additional brake lighting
  • Rear License Plate Mount moved to the left side of the swing arm
  • Custom Red Pinstripe on front and rear wheels, tank console and rear turn signal
As far as the condition of the bike, it's had the best of care since I've owned it. It's been ridden every season but very lightly. The bike has no known mechanical issues. Everything functions on the bike perfectly. I have 2 keys and 2 security fobs along with the owner's manual.

The paint work is in great condition with no notable scratches or dents. I've included 2 photos of two areas I want you to note. The first is at the base of the left hand mirror. You can see that the finish is flaking off around the mounting hole. The second area is the front brake reservoir. You can see there is some bubbling around the end of the cover from the brake fluid impact.

If you're looking for an amazing ride that looks great with low mileage and having had the best of care, this is your bike!

Louisiana Bill Updates Maximum Handlebar Height Legislation

Thu, 17 May 2012

Louisiana state lawmakers have approved a bill that would change the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. Current state law restricts handlebar height to no more than 15 inches above the seat, a somewhat arbitrary level, but a common choice with 17 other states. The House has voted 87-0 in favor of Senate Bill 582 to change the maximum height to the rider’s shoulder level, as measured while sitting on the seat.

Off-Road Motorcycle and Free-Ride Bicycle Compared

Thu, 11 Dec 2008

What if anything do bicycles and motorcycles have in common? Besides the whole two-wheel thing, it isn’t outright apparent that these two “handle-barred beasts” share more than ancient ancestry. Modern Off-road motorcycle and Free-ride bicycle designs side-by-side illustrate how much technology the two have in common.

Cubans Host First Harley-Davidson Rally

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Relations between the U.S. and Cuba have been strained for decades but that hasn’t stopped some Cubans from enjoying a piece of Americana. About 70 Cuban Harley-Davidson riders (or “Harlistas” as they call themselves) gathered in the resort town of Varadero for the country’s first-ever Harley-Davidson rally.
