Harley-Davidson Softail description

1992 Harley Davidson Fat Boy - FLSTF/I. The only thing stock is the tranny. I bought her in 1991, rode her for a year, tore her down that next Fall and spent all winter customizing her. Her debut was tax day 1993. The fenders are thick fiberglass hand-made by T.J. DelCarlo, herself out of California. The other Indian items are from Starklite. She has a detachable windshield, baby ape hangers, fringe here and there, solo Indian seat, chrome parts to match each other, etc. The Indian headlamp on front fender is an actual light. The dealership rebuilt her engine at 45,zero miles and gave her a new cam, bigger pistons, etc. My brother (Refab Metal in Independence, MO) was my machinist and welder, the frame and front forks had to be modified to accept the rear and front fenders. She is garaged every day and night, never been laid down or wrecked. She is 1 of my two bikes and I am selling both of them (the other is a 2000 Road King also listed). She is a single owner and 1 rider bike. I have some stock items that will go with her when she is sold. I do all of her maintenance except engine rebuilding and her oil is changed every 2,500 mis. Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary Party Is Just A Week Away

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Harley-Davidson has been preparing for its 110th anniversary party for the past year, celebrating in 11 countries on six different continents. In the past year, Harley-Davidson employees, dealers and riders have shared thousands of amazing experiences, including a ride through the Tibetan Plateau in China, a parade along the beaches of Sao Paulo and even a Papal blessing. But now the party is coming home to Milwaukee over Labor Day weekend, which promises to be the biggest celebration of them all.  Milwaukee residents have always been cordial hosts for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts who make the journey to the City of Festivals from around the world. One Anniversary tradition is the welcoming home of thousands of riders by Milwaukee area residents who stand on the city’s highway overpasses with homemade welcome signs as riders arrive in Milwaukee.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
