Harley-Davidson Softail description

Runs great! Performance build on the original numbers matching motor with under 200 miles/3 months since complete. Professionally done top and bottom end with receipt using the following parts:

  • Fresh valve job with minor port massage
  • Keith Black kb305 pistons 9.6:1 CR
  • Stock Bore and Stroke
  • Andrews EV35 cam
  • Jims lifters
  • Jims pushrods
  • Cometic Gaskets
  • S&S Oil Pump
  • K&N Filter
  • Super E Shorty Carb
  • Screaming Eagle Ignition
  • Vance & Hines staggered pipes with Quiet Cores installed (have standard baffles for it as well but I wanted it a bit quieter so I don't get harassed by the PD)

You can ride the bike home, mechanically its sound. The shop that did the motor went through and changed the other fluids at the time of the build and to make sure it was all good mechanically. Cosmetic items are minor and frankly I am just going to let the new owner make the call as to what they prefer to have on it so they can make the bike their own. In my opinion its needs are:

  • Mirrors (right mirror moves out of adjustment and makes me crazy)
  • Touch up or repaint the tins (there are various insignificant but noticeable nicks and scratches. I get ALOT of compliments on this bike and its look so its not terrible, I am just very picky)
  • Some chrome pieces have chipped or have some minor corrosion
  • I hate those leather bags.. They work and are fine, I just don't like em!
  • Floorboard Inserts are junk and need replaced
  • A GOOD DETAIL as it sat a bit after the last one and I haven't taken the time.

This is just my opinions as to what should be changed. You can ride it AS IS and be completely happy in my opinion. Its a gorgeous bike that runs great and garners ALOT of positive attention wherever it goes. I ride it a bit here and there but I have some other priorities right now so I am just clearing house. Title in hand and in my name

** Its a beautiful day here in SoCal so I am riding it today.. Miles continue to climb as long as I own it.. Probably 150 will be added to it before days end.

2013 AIMExpo: Sumo-X – Video

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Harley-Davidson riders like to customize their rides and Sumo-X gives them some interesting storage and style options, which we saw at the 2013 American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Fla. The Sumo-X Tour Pack offers an incredible amount of storage behind and around the seat for Harley dressers. It allows you to access two bags or whatever else you’d like to keep in its cavernous opening.

Harley-Davidson Hires ex-GM Engineer Federico

Thu, 08 May 2014

Harley-Davidson has hired a former General Motors engineer and executive, most recently recognized for leading the automaker’s internal investigation of its ignition switch fiasco that resulted in a recall of 2.6 million vehicles. Jim Federico retired from GM on May 5 after working in various roles with the company over nearly four decades, most recently as executive director of global vehicle integration. Federico will join Harley-Davidson on June 2 as vice president of engineering.
