Harley-Davidson Softail description

1990 Harley Davidson Fat Boy Gray Ghost Limited Edition.  One of 4,400 made for sale - one year only bike.  The bike was sold new near Rochester New York and remained with the original owner until 2014.  He rode it sparingly until 1995 when he parked it in his private collection with just 6,200 miles on it.  I ran across the bike in June 2015 while looking for a 1965 Electra-Glide.  Having owned 2 brand new Fat Boys in the 90's, I knew how rare and cool this bike was and bought it to ride until I found the right '65.  I paid $19,000 US for the bike on ebay last June and put a little over $2,000 US in it making it perfect.  It received new tires, battery, fuel valve, Pingle petcock, HD trickle charger, engine guards, NOS Cycle Shack Muffler Pipes, full service with spark plugs, all fluids, adjustments and safety check.

The bike is absolutely beautiful with just 6,355 original miles on it.  Runs like new and the paint and chrome are in excellent condition.  I have the original exhaust  and a spare seat.  I also have a rear fender bib as I ride with the solo seat only.

The Title/Ownership is clear and in my name and the bike is currently registered and located in Oakville, Ontario - about 45 minutes from Buffalo.  Please send me a message with your email address if you would like any additional pics or a short video of it running.

Shipping:  I will assist with shipping the bike in any way that I can.  I do have a Kendon trailer and can deliver it to a local shipping terminal if that helps.  There are no additional taxes or duties to import this bike back to the US.

2012-2013 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special Recalled for Loose License Plate Bracket

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall on all Night Rod Special models from 2012 and some from 2013 because of a potentially loose license plate bracket. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounting screws connecting the VRSDCDX‘s license plate bracket to the tail may loosen, potentially causing the plate to rub against the rear tire. This may cause the plate bracket to rotate as well as damage rear brake lines.

Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.

Elvis' Harley

Thu, 16 Aug 2012

Today (August 16) it's exactly 35 years since Elvis died (or didn't, depending on your beliefs on the matter) so we thought we'd mark the moment with this – Elvis Presley's own 1956 Harley-Davidson. Elvis is so inextricably linked to Harleys that he's even become subject of an endlessly-circulating internet myth. You know, the one where a guy finds an old Harley for a few bucks, starts to restore it and discovers an 'Elvis' inscription under the seat.
