Harley-Davidson Other description

What we have here is my fairly freshly restored Shovelhead with original 10,000mis on the clock and about 350mis since complete restoration. The engine has a Leo Hess prepared S&S 93ci big bore and stroker kit with the big camshaft. Roller Rockers and the Billet S&S rocker boxes. Most of the original brush aluminum parts have been polished or chromed. The wheel edges polished with original paint still. The bike was repainted it's original color and a new Factory seat was located at an obscure HD Dealer. All new everything on this bike including a fresh battery. This is a very serious thing for me to part with this bike as I always felt I would be buried with him as he was my 1st love. So please no tire kickers only serious enthusiasts who desire the finest restoration and very light customization only. This bike currently sports SD Historical Vehicle plates and is only ridden to special events at this time.Thank You for viewing, Erika von T

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.

A Seattle Seahawks-Themed Motorcycle. Why? Because Football. And Charity.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

With the return of football season upon us (that’s American football for our international readers), we thought it best to feature, what else, but a motorcycle. In this particular case, it’s a Seattle Seahawks-themed custom based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King, the same year the Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. The man behind the custom, award-winning bike builder and Seattle resident, Keith Wong, was approached by Patrick ‘PT’ Town, the founder and executive director of Union Ride & Charity Rally - a charity event to raise money for several non-profits including Northwest Harvest, A.N.E.W., Helmets to Hardhats and the Awareness, Education and Prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Youth Football.
