The 2013 Harley-Davidson Softail Blackline FXS model is a modern long custom motorbike with a minimalist, low profile and plenty of vintage Harley-Davidson parts. New for 2013, the Softail Blackline comes with optional Hard Candy Custom paint, a large metal flake paint finish that recalls the iconic styling of '70s custom bikes, and offers blazing color showing through a deep, finish. The H-D Blackline model features a large air-cooled Twin Cam 103 Harley engine with six-speed cruise drive transmission, providing more power for passing, hill-climbing, and riding with passenger and luggage. The FXS Blackline features a rigid "hardtail" rear suspension and narrow rear profile. This contemporary custom bike is slung low with an aggressive riding position that is both cool and comfortable. The Harley Blackline model is reminiscent of the glory days of Harley-Davidson motorcycling - the black headlight, slammed speedo mounted on the triple clamp, round air cleaner cover and black horseshoe oil tank are reminiscent of pre-war Harley parts and accessories; the fuel tank with small tank graphics are inspired by the 1977 Low Rider motorcycle; and the black cylinders with gray heads and black rocker covers is a look you'd find on the Panheads and Shovelheads of the 1950's and 60's. The 2013 H-D Softail Blackline model features a lot of blacked out parts and not a ton of extras - everything is functional and ready for the road. 2010 Harley-Davidson Edition F-150 Revealed
Wed, 11 Feb 2009Unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show this week, the 2010 Harley-Davidson Ford F-150 is officially the first Harley-Davidson edition truck to be constructed from the award-winning 2009 F-150 chassis. This niche market co-branding exercise marks the 14th Harley-Davidson edition of an F-Series truck dating back to 2000. The collaboration between these two companies has produced eight F-150 models, as well as six Super Duty F-250, F-350, and in 2009, the first Harley-Davidson F-450 edition truck.
Harley-Davidson to Assemble More Models in India
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Harley-Davidson is expanding its assembly operations in India, increasing the number of models imported as complete knockdown kits to nine. Harley-Davidson will now assemble the Fat Boy, Fat Boy Special and Heritage Softail Classic in India, joining six models already being assembled in India. The move follows India’s new budget which increases import duties on motorcycles with engines larger than 800cc to 75% from the previous rate of 60%.
Laguna Seca Added to 2014 AMA Superbike Schedule
Thu, 13 Mar 2014AMA Superbike will be racing at Laguna Seca this year after all, with AMA Pro Racing announced the addition of the Monterey, Calif., circuit to its 2014 schedule, joining the World Superbike Championship on July 11-13. Laguna Seca was not included in AMA Pro Racing’s calendar, but its addition now increases the number of rounds in the series to six. That’s still down from the nine rounds held in 2013, but the absence of Laguna Seca and its famed Corkscrew would have been an especially tough loss.
