Harley-Davidson Other description

2012 Harley-Davidson XL1200X Sportster Forty-Eight, CALL TO LEARN ABOUT OUR RENT/LEASE TO OWN PROGRAM - The 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight XL1200X is one of the garage custom motorcycles in the Harley Dark Custom line. This bike cruises down the road with a 1200 cc Evolution engine – an engine with a true Harley-Davidson soul. The Forty-Eight also has an authentic peanut tank which first appeared on Harley-Davidson back in 1948 (its name origin) and has been a defining Sportster feature ever since. The front end of the bike looks beefy with its fat MT90 tire. The Harley Sportster Forty-Eight look is enhanced with the lowered front and rear suspension. Add a low seat height, and you have a serious looking motorcycle with an approachable riding stance. Take sometime and look over the features of this Harley Dark Custom, including the unique under mount motorcycle mirrors. The Harley Forty-Eight is one of the many Harley Sportster bikes, each with a different style. Check out the Sportster XR1200X with a fully adjustable Showa motorcycle suspension, the Sportster XL883L, and all the other Sportster custom bikes including the Iron 883.

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.
