Harley-Davidson Other description

This is a highly modified FXLR Lowrider Custom. It has about 25k on the motor/build not including the added speedometer, Dupont cameleon paint ($3,000+ paint!), a custom fitted 5 gallon Roadking gas tank, bobbed rear fender, an 88" stroker Evo, mid range performance cam, S & S Super E carb, Python III exhaust (both have a scratch on the lower side of the muffler body), chrome Lockhart oil cooler, HD detachable windshield kit, Wide Glide fork assembly, 21" chrome mag, knuckle bars with FXSTD 'Deuce' risers & chrome switch housings with blade levers, custom grips & mirrors, Lapera seat, chrome steel extra extended forward controls, chrome swingarm & calipers, custom turn signals, and a tool bag in front. Quite a package with not much that hasn't been touched, modified, chromed, painted, or otherwise. Ridden with class by a mature rider and not pushed in any way. It runs excellent, shows well, and will make heads turn as you ride by smiling! One badass bike for the price, so don't waste time thinking about a better one!

2012-2013 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special Recalled for Loose License Plate Bracket

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall on all Night Rod Special models from 2012 and some from 2013 because of a potentially loose license plate bracket. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the mounting screws connecting the VRSDCDX‘s license plate bracket to the tail may loosen, potentially causing the plate to rub against the rear tire. This may cause the plate bracket to rotate as well as damage rear brake lines.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.

AMA Honors Zero and Scot Harden with Bessie Stringfield Award

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The American Motorcyclist Association has bestowed a special recognition award to Zero Motorcycles and its Vice President of Marketing, Hall-of-Famer Scot Harden, for their work in attracting new riders and the positive impact they’ve delivered to mainstream media. Harden (pictured above from our recent Zero FX dirt riding review) and Zero were awarded the AMA Bessie Stringfield Award which recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in bringing emerging markets to motorcycling. The award is named after 2002 AMA Hall of Fame inductee Bessie Stringfield, the first African-American woman to ride solo across the United States and a civilian motorcycle dispatch rider for the army in World War II.
