Harley-Davidson Other description
Selling my pride and joy, a 1961 Pan Head. I bought this baby because she my birth year and I always wanted a 1961 Pan but unfortunately I just had to undergo major back surgery and my kick starting days are now over. She is mostly original with the period correct upgrades you’d expect to see on Pan Head. Those familiar with Pan’s will quickly spot the upgrades/items that are not correct: It has been converted over to a 12 volt system, S&S carburetor for enhanced starting and drivability and a dry belt primary (no more drive chain oiler leaking everywhere). She has a fresh professionally done paint job (everything stripped, repaired, tanks cleaned resealed and pressure tested) bringing her back to the original paint scheme. I did put a tiny scratch in the front fender trying to reassemble by myselfL. I have not bothered to touch it up but a good paint guy could probably blend it in. The oil tank was also removed, stripped down, cleaned, brazed, resealed and powder coated for durability. She is a 1-2 kick bike (if you know how to start old Harleys that isJ. She runs great and will sit and idle all day long! There are currently No leaks believe it or not! The only issue she has is on occasion the main float will stick if you leave the fuel on after you shut her down and flood her. Anyone out there still familiar with carburetors know this is not all that unusual and a rebuilt kit will fix it fairly inexpensively. I just haven’t had time and like I mentioned it’s “occasionally” so I have left it as is. The frame has not been hacked and The VIN numbers on the left case match the title. The belly numbers are unfortunately hidden beneath the skid plate and the front engine mounting bolts have to be removed to get under the plate (no small feat), so I can't tell you for sure whether the belly numbers match. Actual milage is unknow. Just trying to represent the bike as it is so there are no surprises. *Buyer to pay all shipping cost. I will help to make arrangements but all costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
She is NOT a fully restored motorcycle and it is being sold AS IS. I believe my reserve is more than fair for an original bike that has not been hacked, wrecked, bobbed, chopped or altered. I will assist in every way with shipping if necessary but shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Service manual, Pan Head service video (Must have - CD) handbook, oil, filters, gaskets, and anything else I can find laying around are included. If you would like to chat or have lots of questions, message me with your phone # and I'll call you back. If you need specific pictures of something just let me know. Thanks for looking and good luck Rick (904) 576-0698.
