Harley-Davidson Other description

45 cubic inch bobber. I built this bike from a 1957 servi car basket case. The engine is a 1957 and the frame is 1941. I put it together to try to best represent what the men were building after the war. Parts that are 1957 servi. engine ,trans, springer front end, tanks with hand shift. Frame is 1941. Wheels brakes clutch open belt primary rear fender handle bars lights controls battery box etc are a mix of aftermarket and factory.  The engine was rebuilt by me. New crank/ rod bearings, .030 over pistons, valves, valve guides, reproduction aluminum heads ( cast iron heads in pictures they have since been changed due to stripped spark plug hole). Rebuilt linkert carb. Transmission has been gone through and still has reverse from servi car. Generator has been converted from 3 brush to 2 brush and running a voltage regulator.  6 volt battery. There is no dash or speedo. Wiring is cloth covered with a keyed ignition switch under tank. Bike starts easily and runs well. I would guess that I have put around 300 miles on it after completion. it is dependable but it is a old motorcycle. It does drip a little oil as expected. As far as the title. It is titled as a 1957 Harley Davidson in my name. Antique Pennsylvania title with matching VIN numbers on the engine. The VIN numbers in the listing are not correct. I put them in because a number was required. I will provide more pictures and any information that is asked for. The shovel head in the photos is not included : ). No reserve auction starting price is the bottom line. I will assist with shipping but it is the buyers responsibility. This should go without saying but the bike will not leave me until paid in full and I expect quick payment. If you have questions and want more pictures just ask. please do not bid unless you plan to buy and have cleared it with your wife. I want a transaction where both the buyer and seller are happy!!!

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

Harley-Davidson Invites Fan On Red Carpet At Captain America Premiere

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

Harley-Davidson and Marvel surprised fans at the premiere of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier in Hollywood, by inviting them onto the red carpet after it closed. Fans at the event were spontaneously selected to walk and experience the official red carpet and to check out a brand new Street 750 motorcycle along with the stars of the film, who autographed the bike for charity. The Winter Soldier star Chris Evans signs a new Harley-Davidson Street 750 at the premiere in Hollywood, CA.  Following the premiere, Harley-Davidson will donate the bike to Concord Youth Theatre. In its continued partnership with Marvel Comics, Harley-Davidson had six motorcycles at the premiere along the red carpet, where fans took pictures and interacted with actor and musician, Tyler Posey, the official Harley-Davidson commentator and host.
