Harley-Davidson FL description

You are bidding on a 1947 Harley-Davidson FL Knucklehead

Bike comes with 1947 Harley-Davidson sidecar.

This bike was purchased two years ago from Adolf "Ogie" Ogar. His information about the bike is as follows: Immaculate restoration of a complete bike with known history. The bike was purchased new as a sidecar bike and owned by the same person nearly its entire life. It starts, runs, and rides beautifully. During the restoration, typical wear parts (bushings, bearings, seals, wiring, etc.) were replaced; however, virtually all the OEM factory parts were retained including:
  • Frame
  • Engine and trans (3 spd w/reverse)
  • Complete offset springer front end
  • All three fenders
  • Gas and oil lines
  • Speedo and dash
  • Cycle Ray headlight
  • Delco Remy horn
  • Air cleaner
  • Fender lights
  • Chain guard
  • Primary covers
  • Gas caps
  • Handlebars
  • Wheel assemblies (the spare has a later safety bead rim)
  • Jiffy and rear stand
  • Front and rear brakes
  • Sidecar frame, body, and related components

I am selling this for a friend of mine and will answer all questions to the best of my ability.

I can help arrange shipping at buyer's expense.

This bike is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing immediately if sold locally.

This vehicle is being sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" with no warranties expressed or implied. A deposit in the amount of $500(US) is due 48 hours of the close of this auction (via PayPal). The balance is due in cash, wire transfer, or certified check. Bike will not be released until payment clears. All transportation costs shall be borne by the buyer.

What am I gonna do with a gun rack?

Wed, 27 Jul 2011

Living in Shoreditch I come across a unique variety of motorcycles on the road; from XS650s, to classic Lambrettas and one completely brown jelly-mould CBR600. My favourite of the regular bikes I see is this Harley-Davidson badged Armstrong MT500. In my head I like to think that the owner operates as an urban vigilante, realistically whoever rides this ex-Army bike is probably an artist and instead of a weapon in the gun holder it's probably art equipment.
