2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider FXDL, 2009 marked the last year that Harley-Davidson manufactured a Low Rider for the United States market. Low Riders have been around in many guises besides the most current FXD frame including one in an FXR frame and one in an FX frame. I have an FXSB which is a 1985 Low Rider. The S stood for Low Rider and the B was for Belt Drive which was rare back then. This featured FXDL has only 3,329 miles on it and appears virtually new. The only option on this bike that I could find was a fob operated security system. This system shuts off the F.I. and the electrical system when the fob is more than about 20 feet from the bike just a little more security in today's insecure world. Being a Dyna, this Low Rider has external shocks, a rubber mounted motor which is 96 C.I. big, a speedo and tach on the fuel tank and a 6 speed Cruise Drive transmission. These Low Riders make great cruisers, two up if desired, and passable touring bikes with the addition of a windshield and some throw over saddle bags. In summary: low miles, great condition, a last-year model, and a realistic price. Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas
Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.

Legends Ride Stops Sturgis Traffic

Hundreds of bikes thundered through the Black Hills toward Sturgis on Monday afternoon, creating a cacophony not heard in these parts since, well, last year. The sixth annual Legends Ride draws thousands of riders, spectators and celebrities to the historic city of Deadwood, South Dakota each year on a charitable pilgrimage to the Buffalo Chip Campground, and organizers said Monday’s edition was likely the largest ever.
