  This weekend, the MotoGP circus makes its way to the United States for round two of the world championship, held at the stunning new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the first time the track will host a world championship level motorcycle event. Expect to see the world’s fastest racebikes reach speeds over 200 mph on the 1 km (0.62-mile) back straight, and bring ear plugs — these bikes are loud! Lightning-Mounted Carlin Dunne Fastest Motorcycle In Pikes Peak Practice, Beating Gas Bikes

Carlin Dunne and Lightning electric motorcycles are making a strong case for e-bike supremacy at the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. During the last five days of practice at the mountain, Dunne set the fastest times. With the course split into two halves, Dunne recorded a 4:34.03 on the bottom section, 14 seconds quicker than the nearest competitor, Greg Chicoine, on a 450cc Supermoto.

Ahead of next weekend’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Pramac Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone will make a stop at the D-Store San Francisco, Wednesday, July 17, starting at 5pm. Complimentary posters will be given out, and there will also be a raffle benefitting Riders for Health. Prizes for the raffle will include donations from photographer Scott Jones, grand stand seats from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and more.
