Ducati Superbike description

It's not often that a motorcycle comes along and changes the fate of an entire company, but that's exactly what happened after the Ducati 1098 materialized on designer Giandrea Fabbro's monitor. The bike was an instant success, destined to be the latest motorcycling icon from Borgo Paginale. Thin dual head-lamps, dual underseat exhaust, single-sided swingarm and sumptuous bodywork evoke visions of the legendary 916, which is exactly whatDucati was aiming for. Key technologies derived from the company's recent MotoGP racing success have allowed the 1098 to narrow the gap between the Japanese bikes so much that it actually takes top billing in a few areas normally dominated by the Big Four.
Utilizing the already capable 1098 as a platform, Ducati's 1098S incorporates premium components designed to satisfy the most dedicated sportbike riders, at a cost of $4,000 over the price of the standard 1098.

We recently took this 2 owner 1098S in on trade from a private collector in Florida. This Duc has been adult owned, never laid down, never tracked and ridden gingerly. With a custom $2,000 paint scheme to commemorate the 1198 Althea Unibat World Superstock 1000, this is one Ducati like no other.

With a fresh battery, fluids recently changed, as new tires, complete books and manuals and comes with all keys, this bike is ready to hit the road or weekend track days.

Nicky needs to slide

Mon, 10 May 2010

Following Joe Kopp's historic win on a Ducati in AMA flat track, alarms bells have been going off in the heads of many, "Hey why doesn't Nicky Hayden jump on the Duke flat tracker?" Well the guys at the excellent American publication Road Racer X are running an online petition and a great marketing wake-up call for Ducati to get Nicky on board the bike for the Indy Mile on August 28th. If he won, and it's a big if considering he hasn't raced flat track in a long time, Nicky would complete the AMA Grand Slam which encompasses victories in the following; half-mile dirt track, mile dirt track, short track, TT, and a Superbike race win. It's an exclusive club with only four members, Dick Mann, Kenny Roberts, Doug Chandler and Bubba Shobert.

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

On his first attempt at the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, road racer Jeremy Toye set a record in the premiere Open Class to win the category aboard a 2015 Kawasaki ZX-10R, celebrating the 30th year of the legendary Ninja brand. Prior to setting foot on the hill, Toye was confident he could get among the class leaders, aiming to beat the outright Pikes Peak motorcycle record, which was set by Carlin Dunne in 2012 with a time of 9:52.819. While that record remains intact, Toye was able to set a time of 9:58.687 to win the Open Class, finishing 6sec ahead of his closest rival, Fabrice Lambert aboard a Ducati.
