Ducati Superbike description

Brand New bike stored since new. As Homologated in "Race form" with headlight, tail light and no speedo or turn signals. Factory Conti Black Chrome slip ons, Marzocchi M1R Forks, Braced Swing Arm, Marvic Magnesium wheels,Pankl Ti Rods & other parts that set it apart from the 851 Strada.

Absolutely original throughout including all panels and paint, decals, Michelin Radial Slicks- Original battery never filled. No Kit spares come with the bike. 2 Dealer owners & 2nd private owner.

Minor flaws or age affected areas are:
Stress crack in right upper fairing just into paint, no damage to upper
Paint on MC reservoir caps bubbled around edges
Engine paint lifted in 1-2 spots on upper surface
Rear shock travel bumper gone from dry rotting

Bike was at some point previously stored with intake velocity stacks open and exposed as there is no air filter element, so we took the top end apart for a peek and re-assembled with new timing belts and gaskets. Oil was changed for inspection as well but original filter left in place. A 26 year old never started bike would not be something you just dump gas in and fire up without some further overall inspection. It is still dry of fuel, coolant and clutch fluid. Clutch was disassembled and plates glass beaded being plain steel and having some rust on the surface. There is nothing to hide and bike presents excellent for age.
International buyers welcome with proper export quality crating & help available with shipping arrangements. Bike is available for inspection in Eastern PA.

Note: MSO is from original dealer and was reassigned to second dealer. Kept that way for proof that it has never been titled. Bill of sale will accompany original MSO.

The problem with electric bikes...

Mon, 11 Jun 2012

This weekend sees the running of the most famous car race of them all, the Le Mans 24hrs, and to be a driver of one of the front-running cars has got to be fairly high on the list of jobs that will make ladies swoon. Speed, danger, noise, fame, physical fitness and lots and lots of money, the key elements of any top-line race series, tend to ensure that its star competitors manage to appear cool. But the latest press picture from Yamaha – publicising the firm's link with (Yamaha shareholder) Toyota's Le Mans effort – manages to strip away every last shred of of swagger from the team's drivers by plonking them on Yamaha EC-03 electric scooters.
