Ducati Sport Touring description

My 2001 Ducati 916 seen here is up for sale with 33,XXX miles. She rides beautifully, and is ready to ride with a tag. I have added red LED's for night viz, red rim trim for reflection, and I changed the headlights for silverstars. The brake lights are set to flash whenever you stop, also for visibility. I just put a new Pirelli tire on the front, the back is still ready for a road trip and the clutch is strong. I would like a rider with some experience to come take her home and treat her as I have, full synthetic oil and all. The title is clear and in hand. KBB rates this bike at this mileage to be about 4600, so I have lowered the price a bit for the tire wear on the rear, which is still minimal. She has been garage kept as long as I wasn't riding. It's a real blast to ride this one. She idles like a cruiser, but rev's like a rocket.  It's an endearing sound.

848 Challenge heads to Holland

Thu, 12 May 2011

This weekend sees riders and teams heading across the North Sea to the famous Assen TT circuit for Round 2 of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge. After two stunning opening races at Brands Hatch BSB three weeks ago, the expectation is that the racing will be similarly closely fought and exciting at the historical home of bike racing. Leon Morris left Brands with a double win, continuing his strong form from last season and will no doubt be the man to beat in Assen, while Darren Fry, the current Champion, will hope for better luck this weekend after breaking his coccyx at Brands Hatch in a heavy crash. But the Buildbase/JHP Ducati team-mates will be wary of the challenge from Mike’Spike’ Edwards (MSKWorks.com), who will be riding his upgraded Ducati 848EVO for the first time this weekend, and Mark Cheetham (Shorrocks Motorcycles) and Kenny Gilbertson (Art of Racing/Boast Plumbing) who were the main challengers for podium finishes three weeks ago.

Collector’s Item: Ducati Diavel AMG, the Mercedes-badged Audi

Thu, 19 Apr 2012

As expected, Mercedes-Benz’s performance division AMG announced it is cutting ties with Ducati following the motorcycle manufacturer’s acquisition by rival car-maker Audi. AMG released a brief statement saying, explaining the split and saying it we never in the running to purchase Ducati: “Since the end of 2010 a successful marketing cooperation has existed between AMG and Ducati. The company takeover by a rival car manufacturer has understandably resulted in the end of any further collaboration.
