A removable tailpiece cover gives the Sport 1000 S the Caf Racer look, but when removed reveals a seat for your favorite passenger. DUCATI ROAD HOLDING The Sport 1000 S is built with quality throughout. Its confident road holding is thanks to its race-inspired Trellis frame and sport-tuned suspension. It uses high performance Marzocchi 43mm upside-down front forks with classic brushed aluminum surfaces, while rear suspension is handled by twin high performance fully adjustable Sachs shocks. The Sport 1000 S bristles with classic Caf Racer appeal, while still delivering the superior road holding and performance you expect from Ducati. Compare at $17k from Dealers online. This looks more like Rossi

Fri, 24 Aug 2012

At Brno today Valentino Rossi had a positive session in free practice, finishing closer and within half a second of the fastest time set by Dani Pedrosa. With a best of 1:57.315 and only .457 off Pedrosa's 1:56.858 lap. But it's not just the time that is encouraging, it's the first time in a long while that Rossi has looked more like his old self on the Desmosedici. "I’m happy because we went pretty well today, and in particular, the gap to the front makes us fairly optimistic," Rossi said after free practice.

Ducati Confirms Checa For 2013, Althea Out

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

As the Ducati Factory World Superbike team finalizes its plans for the introduction of the 1199 Panigale into the series, two things are certain: 2011 champion Carlos Checa will be the team’s lead rider, and Team Althea Racing, who have worked with Ducati since 2010, will not be the team’s sponsor. The first bit of news shouldn’t be a surprise, as Checa has been helping the Bologna factory develop the Panigale since mid-year. Checa won the 2011 championship with a masterful display of domination on the 1198, a model many believed to be dated and an underdog before the season began. Details of Checa’s new contract with Ducati have yet to be released other than his role in continuing to develop the 1199 and being the team’s lead rider next year.
