The D16RR is literally a Moto GP bike built for the street. At the heart of the D16RR is a compact 989cc V-Four engine inside a version of Ducati's trademark tubular-steel trellis frame. The engine uses the same bore and stroke as that used in the 2006 race bike the D16GP6. It uses the 'twin pulse' firing order in which the crank pins are offset by 70 degrees to generate what Ducati terms as 'soft pulse timing.' Equipped with the race ECU and exhaust system the D16RR achieves 180HP at 13800 rpm at the rear wheel. Troy Bayliss and Ernesto Marinelli on the Ducati 1199 Panigale [Video]
Tue, 22 Nov 2011Three-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss and Ducati Superbike Project Director Ernesto Marinelli sat down together to talk about the new Ducati 1199 Panigale in a new video released by the Bologna manufacturer. The video was shot in a split screen format with the two men answering questions about Ducati‘s new superbike. Of course, the video feature the two lauding superlatives on the 1199, but it does offer some amusing moments such as Bayliss’ “Superquadro” face pictured above and the two men doing their impressions of how the Panigale sounds rocketing down the straight of the Mugello circuit.

Tue, 25 Jun 2013The Ducati Monster celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, but it looks like year 21 will be just as important, with the introduction of a new model powered by Ducati‘s liquid-cooled Testastretta 1198cc engine. No less than three different publications have released spy photos of the new 2014 Ducati Monster today, though the simultaneous timing of article from MCN, Moto.it and Motociclismo.it would indicate some coordination from Ducati’s PR machine. Official details are, of course, unavailable, but the photos do provide quite a bit of information.
