Ducati Other description

Relisting my bike as the would-be buyers check never arrived.

When I purchased this bike in was in very rough shape.  It had been a racer and was fitted with the 350cc engine.  I took the bike to Ducati restorer Ted Henry in California for a complete restoration.  I elected to keep the 350cc engine as it looked exactly like the 250.  It was converted to a 12 volt system.  Everything works, including the lights, switches, key and indicators

I rode the bike for just a few miles, then put it on display in my living room for the last 3 years.  I just tried charging the battery, but it would not take a charge.  It will need a new one.

It looks like this bike stared out as a 250 GT.  Over the years it was tinkered with and modified.  I elected to restore it as a Diana.  The 350cc engine has great torque and really moves the bike along.

Personally, I believe these bikes are the most beautiful motorcycles ever built.  This one belongs in someone's collection.  I have spent a great deal of time and money restoring this bike, so if it does not sell here on Ebay it will go to the Vintage and Antique Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas on January 25th.

Good luck bidding.

I am getting a lot of questions regarding the restoration.  I hope this helps answer many of the questions I am getting

The restoration was done by Ted Henry in Los Angeles. If you know of Ted's work, he is a master restorer of these bikes. The wheels and spokes were rebuilt and rechromed. The engine was removed and parts were replaced as needed. I believe the top end was completely overhauled and the clutch was replaced. I have reciepts, but will have to find them, as this was done about 5 or 6 years ago. The 250 GT, which I believe, my bike started out as, was produced only in 1964 and 65. It was basicly a detuned Diana with a battery electrical system. After Ted's work was completed we found a correct Diana front fender and a rounded headlight naceld. The bike originally had a squared front fender and headlight nacel, like the Monza. The forks were rebuilt and the rear shocks replaced. Everything was done to bring the bike to it's present condition.

I only drove the bike for a few times, before storing it. These bikes are smaller than I remember from my youth!!

Hope this helps. Jeff.

EICMA 2008: First Impressions

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

I have had a little walk around checking out the preparations for the show. I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t already seen or heard about previously, but here’s a selection from three of the halls. Yamaha are the only manufacturer to use an industrial crane to place some of its bikes up on high rise stands.

The Ducati lovers all over the world now have a great opportunity to pass their passion for their favorite technology to their offspring: in the nearest future, four children's electric bikes will appear in authorized Ducati centers at once. The maximum speed of electric bikes reaches 7.6kmh, they are intended for children aged two or three years and above, the cost of the high-end Desmosedici GP 12V toy, with the Andrea Dovizioso's grand prix car design, is 402 Euros.
