Ducati Traction Control (DTC): An integral part of the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), the Ducati Traction Control system can be adjusted to eight levels (four of which are integrated in the Riding Modes). It processes the inputs from the wheel speed sensors to control rear wheel slip, significantly improving performance and active safety. The system installed on the new Multistrada 1200 is re-tuned for a smoother intervention of the system, which now gives a higher priority to ignition delay. In case of wheel-spin, the system reacts by delaying the ignition, up to a 60% torque reduction request. For higher torque reduction requests the injection is cut off. Each pre-set DTC level associated with the different Riding Modes can be customised by the rider and stored from the setup menu. Ducati Safety Pack (DSP): The Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) is offered standard throughout the new Multistrada 1200 range, giving evidence of how Ducati gives top priority to road safety. Designed to achieve superior control and active safety, the DSP includes Brembo’s state-of-the-art 9ME ABS with three mappings and Ducati Traction Control (DTC) with eight operation levels. |

Wed, 11 Jul 2012The latest spy photo of Ducati‘s upcoming 848-engined model continues to muddle the debate as to whether the new motorcycle is a Hypermotard or a Multistrada. The new model appears to blend elements of the two existing bikes with the liquid-cooled Testastretta 11° engine and an all-new frame. What will likely emerge is a new model with a couple of variations, a sport version and a touring version, This latest picture (the one shown below the jump has been tweaked for better contrast and a bit of sharpening) reveals the new side-mounted exhaust design and Ohlins suspension.

The Vyrus story begins when Bimota filed for bankruptcy in the early 2000s. Vyrus principal Ascanio Rodorigo, a former Bimota employee, began producing his version of the Tesi after Bimota let its patents expire while it was in bankruptcy.
