Ducati Monster description
This is a mean little naked cafe bike. I've had this bike for 6 years and it has mostly been ridden on weekends--I am a fair weather rider. I bought it from a friend in Minnesota who did a few mods (mostly took off a bunch of the plastics, which I have if you want).
The bike has around 14,500 miles, although the odometer reads only 1800 miles since I had the instrument cluster replaced professionally about 3 years ago. So the total mileage on the bike is around 16,000. I'm getting rid of it because I just don't ride it much anymore. The bike has been stored with a cover, under a carport, on a trickle charger. The bike starts up and rides great. The good: Bike runs well, tons of fun, and looks great Comes with two keys plus the red key Comes with "leather" tank cover and tank bag which snaps on to the cover. It stores enough for a weekend trip. Sounds super mean Oil changed regularly and newish tires (they have a few hundred miles on them but have been sitting nearly idle for a few years--they have a lot of life in them). I have most of the maintenance records if you want to see them. Inspection just done, Texas registration good through June 2017 Title in hand The bad: Security system can be finicky when switching between keys--the bike gets confused by switching back and forth and refuses to start when it doesn't recognize the key. My solution has been to just use the same key and then it's fine. The "Low Fuel" indicator stays on despite having a full tank "Maint" maintenance indicator flashes upon starting the bike, as it always has since I changed the instrument cluster The ugly: The bike has been dropped before I owned it, so the tank is banged up on both sides (covered up by the tank cover) and it is a little scratched up (I tried to show most of it in the pics). The tank cover hides this damage. The seat has a small puncture in it (see pic) This is a super fun bike with a lot of spunk. I am willing to work with you on shipping if local pick up is not an option for you. |

Charge Up you iPhone While You Ride
Fri, 12 Feb 2010Motorcyclists can now enjoy total freedom on the open road confident in the knowledge that their cell phones, GPS, MP3 players and latest generation of iPhone/iTouch devices will remain fully-charged and in-service for the duration of the ride thanks to Powerlet’s plug and play systems. “Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices,” says Powerlet Products founder Adam Bonislawaski. “Before we came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire strippers and cut into their bike’s fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap cigar lighter to power their devices.
Little Girl
Wed, 18 Jul 2012I remember seeing Spiritualized play a gig in Brighton about ten years ago. As soon as the band came on stage, a massive smoke cloud rose from the audience that could have rivaled anything from a Cheech & Chong film. In fact, there was so much herbal jazz being smoked around me that I needed a little lie down halfway through their epic track Cop Shoot Cop.Back to the current day and Spiritualized have just released their latest single 'little girl'.
Ducati: World’s Fastest Spider?
Tue, 25 Jun 2013According to a report in The Vancouver Sun, a fast little spider was recently discovered in the high-elevation Flathead Valley of southeastern British Columbia. Measuring only three millimeters in length, the Apostenus ducati is so small and fast it is nearly impossible to catch, says Robb Bennett, the Royal B.C. research associate responsible for helping name the arachnid.
