Ducati 750 GT description

1973 Ducati 750 GT In 73 Ducati made several changes to the 750GT throughout the year. This is one of the early bikes.

I've kept this GT as a rider and I do ride it a couple of times a year including a couple of long multi-day rides. I trust this bike and it has never let me down. The bike starts easily and runs great. It shifts, stops, and generally works like it should. The speedometer is a bit off but it works, if I were restoring the bike I would send the speedo off and have it rebuilt. The bike could use a new set of sprockets and a chain. Other than those things it's a good solid bike.

The bike does have dual front disc brakes that were installed back in the 70's and it also has electronic ignition that was installed sometime in the early 80's (I think I have paperwork on the ignition) I've done a lot of cleaning and maintenance over the years and the bike looks pretty good for having never been restored. I think the bike would make a fantastic candidate for a full restoration and if it doesn't sell that will be my plan for it

The bike currently has a modified steel GT tank from a 74 model and it has been painted in the OE raspberry metal flake found on a few of the European bikes. It was painted about 9 years ago and some of the bodywork on the tank is bulging on the left side. It has always been full of fuel and has never leaked. Over the life of the bike things have been changed and replaced. I can't list all of the parts that are replacement or parts that are correct. Please take a look at the pics and ask any questions and I'll try my best to answer. The bike has been a lot of fun to own and ride. It is not perfect and if you've never owned a bike like this they do require frequent tinkering and maintenance but for me that has been part of the journey. This bike has been with me for nearly 10 years now and it feels like an old friend. I hope it becomes that for the next owner as well.
The bike is currently located in San Francisco and can be delivered anywhere in California within a couple days of auction end for a fee.
