Buell Lightning description

You are looking at a 2000 Buell X1 Lightning.  It is black with a blue frame and factory PM wheels.  It currently has 26,xxx miles.  I believe I am the third owner.  I bought this Buell in 2007 with 10,xxx miles, so as you can see, I've had it for a while.  Mechanically, it is completely stock except for a K & N filter.  The engine, exhaust and ECU have not been modified in any way.  According to the guy I bought it from, the H-D clutch and timing covers were put on by the original owner.  I polished the rear subframe, to better complement the wheels and covers.  The rear hugger was also removed by a previous owner.  Other than that, everything else is stock.  Even the rear fender is intact.   I have changed the oil every 3000 miles or so using Mobil 1 synthetic and had a 20k mile service done by the local Harley dealer.  The tires were replaced last year, and I had the seat recovered at the same time.  This is an increasingly rare bike to see on the road, especially one that has not been overly modified.  This Buell is located outside of Wilmington, NC and is available for local pickup only.  I have a clear title in hand.

FIM Confirms Erik Buell Racing Meets Production Requirements for WSBK Homologation

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation has confirmed that Erik Buell Racing has met the required level of production to meet homologation requirements to compete in the 2014 World Superbike Championship. The news isn’t much of a surprise, considering EBR and racers Geoff May and Aaron Yates were listed on the WSBK provisional entry list released in late January, but the announcement offers the first official confirmation. Charles Hennekam, the FIM’s technical coordinator and motorcycle homologation officer and Gregorio Lavilla, Dorna WSBK sporting director visited EBR‘s factory in East Troy, Wisc., last month to verify the production level on the company’s 1190RX superbike.

RoboCop Remake Has RoboCop Riding A Motorcycle

Mon, 15 Oct 2012

The semi-futuristic 1987 film, “RoboCop,” starring actor Peter Weller, told the tale of fatally injured Detroit cop effectively resurrected to life, but in the form of mostly metal, cyborg-like being. RoboCop was the ultimate crime-fighting tool, and the public loved the premise of the movie to the tune of two sequels, lots of merchandising and even a short-lived television series. “RoboCop” has been resurrected again, the film that is, and is currently shooting in Toronto according to the Daily Mail. And as you can see by these images from the Daily Mail, RoboCop is now fighting crime on two wheels.

Harley’s Ed Krawiec is 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champ

Mon, 14 Nov 2011

Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec is the 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion. Krawiec clinched the title with a second-round win at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway that eliminated Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana Jr., the only rider in the field with a chance to overtake Krawiec for the championship. Krawiec advanced to the final round and lost to his Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate Andrew Hines, who finished the season third in points. More from Harley-Davidson on Krawiec’s win: “I think this is really a statement on the season, to end it with an all-Harley final and the championship, and with Willie G.
