This build was just completed and road tested. This started out as a 91 HD FXSTS, everything has been redone to make it a vintage looking bobber. Have a lot of custom fabrication done to it. Motor is stock HD with 5 speed transmission. As you can see, looks nothing like the original bike. It has a clear HD title. Some major work done include Super E S&S carb replacement of the original CV carb, new Compu-fire ignition (the best in the market which I never had any issues on all my bikes), chain drive, hard copper oil lines, vintage Avon speedster tires, chopped HD springer front end (2" shorter than stock), Goodson Air Cleaner, and custom Hollywood bars, heavy gauge rear fender from Lowbrow, 2" Ultima open belt drive, forward controls, and many other modifications. Newly released documents from the CARB reveal the Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two among the company’s 1200cc Sportster offerings alongside the Forty-Eight, 1200 Custom and Nightster.

Get your credit cards out because tomorrow, January 9, 2014, will see a 1923 Indian Big Chief with Princess Sidecar owned by McQueen and fully restored by Von Dutch put on the auction block at the Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction. Previously sold at the Steve McQueen Estate Sale in Las Vegas in 1984, the 74cu (1200cc) Indian is “capable of reaching speeds of 90mph.” If McQueen’s coolness factor isn’t enough, having the notoriety of Von Dutch’s restoration is the icing on the cake.
