BMW R-Series description

Nice R80 Cafe. New paint, total exhaust, K&N filters, Acewell speedo, handle bars, lithium battery and custom seat with tail piece.
The carbs were rebuilt but needs to be jetted for the new pipes and filters. It's running a little lein now. Tires are good and the front forks need new seals. This is a great example of a BMW cafe and with some tuning and detailing it will be Awsome! I was going to tear it down this winter and clean it up for the spring but am way too busy with other projects.

BMW Reports Q2 2013 Results – 15.5% Increase Produces Record Quarter

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

BMW reported a record second quarter with sales of 40,209 motorcycles for the three months ended June 30, 2013. The quarter saw a year-on-year increase of 15.5% from sales of 34,816 motorcycles reported in 2012. For the year to date, BMW has sold 64,941 motorcycles, also a record for first half sales in the company’s 90 years in the motorcycle business (those numbers however do include 1,110 Husqvarna motorcycles sold in the first quarter before the brand was acquired by Pierer Industries.) The record half comes in the face of a worldwide decline of 7.1% for motorcycles 500cc and larger over the first six months.

2009 BMW S1000RR Entering Production

Wed, 04 Feb 2009

We’re finally able to share some pictures and info about the production version of BMW’s new literbike, the S1000RR. We now know that it has a claimed dry weight of 403 pounds, which should be competitive with its Japanese literbike rivals. The all-new inline-Four powerplant displaces 999cc, and its cylinder head is said to be very narrow and compact, with the valves actuated by “very small” cam followers that are nearly at Formula 1 levels in size.
