BMW R-Series description

Beautiful and rather rare 1984 R-80-ST.  It runs very well.  Has been garaged and started frequently, and ridden in the last 6 months.  I was told it is a 1983 even though the paper work says 1984.  Speedometer reads 373 miles.  It is stock except for:

It has been lowered for the needs of a doctor who owned it before we bought it back.

The seat, shocks and tires have been modified to lower the entire bike making it a very nice motorcycle for a shorter rider or as a first bike.

Nothing has been altered that cannot be taken back to stock.  The frame has not been altered at all.

Instrument panel has machine turning.

It lived near the beach for 3 years, so there is some paint oxidation as seen in the pictures.

Head protectors have been added

There is a new Clymer’s manual, new battery, and a second seat lock

Front fender to ground 26”

Seat to ground 32”

Back fender to ground 33”

Rear tire: Dunlop 491/120-90B18 71H

Front tire: Avon AM20 90-H18

Akront aluminum rims

If the bike is taken for a test ride, the asking price in cash must be left with me.

The bike can be picked up at my home near San Diego, or I will help the buyer with shipping arrangements.

BMW is entering the scooter market this year with its C600 Sport and C650 GT maxi-scooters, but the German manufacturer almost entered the scooter segment nearly 60 years earlier. In the 1950s, BMW produced a pair of scooter prototypes it called the R10. The first prototype produced in 1953 was equipped with a 175cc Single producing about 8hp while the 1954 prototype (pictured above) was equipped with a 200cc producing about 10hp.

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

Could This Innovative New Light Save Your Life?

Thu, 19 Aug 2010

Everyone knows brake lights are to alert drivers behind you, but what about when you roll off the throttle, and tailgating drivers fail to notice your decreasing rate of speed? Would you like them to know you’re decelerating, rather than potentially becoming another statistic? Nikkos Designs of Fort Myers, Fla.
