BMW R-Series description

I am really in love with BMW airheads right now and have a couple projects going.  The plan was to make this into a cafe or use the engine for another project and part out the rest.  The previous owner put on a big bore kit that really gives this bike some grunt!  The Mikunis could use some top end tuning but are much simpler to work over the Bings I'm used to.  The body has been rattle canned and looks ok from a distance but very obvious when you get closer.  For me, I'd respray if I was to keep it.  There are a couple issues that are noteworthy.  The bike does drip a bit of oil after being ridden.  I don't know exactly where from but plan on some new gaskets if you want to fix this.  The previous owner rode it like this and wasn't concerned, just kept her topped off.  I'm very picky and would re seal if it was me.  also, the bolt that attaches the valve cover in the center is loose.  It's not needed to hold the valve cover on, but should be taken care of.  Again, previous owner didn't mind, I'd prefer to fix it.  I do have the speedo/tach combo if you would like to have it with the bike.   The wiring is all there, just not on the bike currently.  It shows 18.5K miles.  The head and tail lights along with signals are working although no front signals installed. I've priced it based on the current condition and well under parts value.  I'm sure the smartest thing I could do is part out the bike but It's too nice to do that.  I love this style of bike, tank and especially the peanut style heads.

I can help you with shipping by meeting with your driver or using one of my resources.  California or Arizona are very easy places for me to ship to, typically 300 or so.  I'm just 20 min away from Salt Lake City International and can pick you up there.  UShip has also been a great resource for shipping and can give you an idea as well, just click on the shipping tab on the listing to get a quick (typically higher than you can get) estimate.  I am not a dealer, just a big fan of anything with a motor.  I buy and sell a few bikes and cars a year and also help my friends list on ebay.  I've sold hundreds of bikes and cars over the years and assure a smooth transaction.

All vehicles in Utah are sold as is where is with no warranty implied.  That being said I do my best to describe and photo things I sell including flaws that some may try and hide.  I do and have missed things that others may find later.  It's always best to come view a vehicle in person as I've experienced that things always look better in the digital world.  I require a $500.00 non refundable deposit and full payment to be made within 5 business days from purchase.  I work a normal job (at ebay in fact) but can arrange to meet you before/after work or on the weekends.  Feel free to call or text me with questions.  Please do so before 11 PM and after 7 AM Mountain time. Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!

WSB racer Troy Corser and Formula One fast man Nick Heidfeld recently swapped their BMW race machinery for a lap of the Nürburgring circuit.   Corser, who got to drive Heidfeld’s 700 horsepower car, said: "It was just awesome! The car feels so balanced, the brakes are fantastic, the tyres have unbelievable grip and the steering is very direct but still has a lot of feeling.

Spy Video Provides Up-Close Look at 2014 BMW R1200RT/R1200GT

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

Last month, we published spy photos of what appeared to be some prototypes of the 2014 BMW R1200RT sport-tourer undergoing testing somewhere in southern France. Unfortunately, the photographs were captured from far away, preventing us from seeing many details apart from the new water-cooled Boxer engine from the new GS and what appears to be the adaptive headlight from the K1600GT and GTL. Thankfully, a new video has surfaced, providing an up-close look at the new R1200RT.
