BMW R-Series description

Bike starts up on first push of starter. This been has been in a shed for years and does need some attention. Engine rebuilt many years ago and had less than 500 on rebuild. New battery, fuel lines and spark plugs. Bike needs carburetors synched and clean up, brakes could probably use an overhaul and all fluids changed. This is a restoration candidate and will clean up well as the mechanics of the bike are solid. Seat cover and seat frame need replacement. this is a great bike to make your own with a teardown and restoration! Additional photos on request. Comes with original hard side covers, one key. This bike runs and drives! Bike cover included.

A $1000.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 3 days of auction end.
We accept: CASH IN PERSON, Bank Certified/Cashier's check or Bank-to-Bank transfer for full payment. Official bank check acceptable upon review.
PayPal is not accepted for full payment (only for the $1000.00 non-refundable deposit).

Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!

Bonhams To Auction Bruce Smith Collection Of Original Illustrations

On October 20, Bonhams will be auctioning off a collection of original illustrations by Bruce Smith from the 1960s and 1970s. Each one will be signed by Smith on heavy cartridge paper. The collection is comprised of cutaway illustrations of a 1963 Royal Enfield Interceptor 750cc, Chris Vincent’s 1964 BSA 650cc A65 Race Outfit, and a 1966 Greeves Racer, the largest of this series being 45cm x 62cm.

2013 BMW F800GT Revealed in CARB and EPA Documents

Documents released by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board confirm the existence of a new member of BMW‘s F800 lineup, the F800GT. The 2013 BMW F800GT will likely be a more touring-oriented replacement for the F800ST (pictured above) which was conspicuously absent from the CARB document.
