BMW R-Series description

1961 BMW R50 restored in 1998,mileage is unknown speedometer was not working when I purchased the bike.

Speedometer was rebuilt by Palo Alto and set at 21133 miles it now has 25751 miles.

Transition was rebuilt by Engle Motors.

carburetors are the new style Bings.

The engine was disassembled and inspected,I replaced the rings,valves and valve springs

I replaced the wheel bearings steering head bearings and swingarm bearings .

New wiring harness

All rubber was replaced.

The exhaust is reproduction

Powder coated frame and swingarms.

The bike was lightly crashed and has damage the valve covers,mufflers ,finder and shock tower.

Tank has scratches from a magnetic tank bag.

The back finder has scratches and dents from a seat.

There is more that I am forgetting ,I have all receipts.

Third Annual ‘The MEET’ at ACM

More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

MINI has just officially revealed not one, but two of its MINI Scooter E Concepts that will officially debut at the Paris Auto Show next week. Created to bring together a youth-oriented lifestyle element and sustainable mobility, the scooters take significant design cues from the MINI lineup of cars while using a lithium-ion battery pack to deliver guilt-free mobility. Making the MINI E Scooter Concept almost excessively hip is its smartphone integration, where the owner’s iPod or similar device acts as the actual key for the scooter, clicking into a central docking station between the handlebars.
