Up for sale is our 1960 BMW r69s this is your chance to own a rare one of a kind collectors item. No they did not originally come in this color. We painted it sea foam green to stand out and be eye catching. The frame is a 1960 r69s with sidecar mounts (vin number 655087) it has been professionally powdered coated black. It has an r50 motor (vin number 637222) So no the frame and motor numbers do not match. The point of this build for us was to show the world what our small shop is capable of. We have used it for a promotional piece for a year and a half now and its time to let it go to a new home. Please do your research before bidding. This is not Electric start, it is kick start only. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!
2013 BMW R1200GS Telelever Problem Explained in Transport Canada Recall
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Earlier this week, we wrote about reports in the Italian media of a delay on deliveries of the 2013 BMW R1200GS because of an issue with the suspension. Transport Canada has now issued a recall notice on BMW‘s new GS – the third to come from the Canadian government agency – that would explain the delay. According to Transport Canada, the threaded plugs securing the fork tubes to the upper triple clamp may come loose over time on some units.
Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.
