BMW Other description

2013 BMW R 1200 RT 90 Years of BMW Motorrad Edition, Only 1 left2013 BMW R 1200 RTAs far as 2-cylinder fans are concerned, first-class touring has a memorable abbreviation - and it s been around for 30 years: RT. For long-haul travelers there can hardly be any other term which has always stood for perfectly conceived motorcycling concept from start to finish: excellent wind and weather protection, optimum ergonomics, highly convenient operation combined with a top-class chassis fitted with the unique optional extras ASC and ESA II.In the touring segment, these features probably define the ultimate benchmark of innovation. Even though the R 1200 RT cuts a superb figure everywhere with its dynamic new design, everything about it sends out the message: built to cover thousands of miles, preferably in one go.Then there is this fascinating mixture of distinctive engine and big bike dynamics. The characteristic boxer supremacy has been further enhanced in the current version: the engine s crowning glory is now the radial Double Overhead Camshaft valve operating system from the HP2 Sport, though here designed for greater torque and without any loss of running smoothness: maximum torque 88 ft-lb at 6000 rpm, rated output still at 110 hp. This means a tangible increase in thrust from the lower engine speed range through to above the medium range. The new valve control in the exhaust system ensures a discreet but more dynamic sound. And in terms of comfort, the bike boasts a new audio system available as an optional extra, with the innovative operating concept Multi-Controller carrying out virtually all commands from a single unit.So there s only one thing you have to do yourself - drop by for a test ride. 90 Years Special Model90 years of character. 90 years of endurance. BMW Motorrad is marking the anniversary of the comfortable boxer model and its irrepressible pioneering spirit - 90 years of motorcycle construction motivated by sheer passion. The special model of the R 1200 RT brings 90 years of success to life. Finished in matt black/gold with an exclusive brass plate on the clamp, this distinctive touring bike is presented in homage to the tradition and origins of BMW Motorrad. The anniversary model instantly demonstrates what perfect shape it is in - right on time for its 90th birthday. 90 years - unstoppable: the distinctive touring bike.

Milan Show: Moto2 tried and tested

Tue, 02 Nov 2010

The insanity of Moto2 doesn't seem like the right home for the elegance of the Rizoma brand. But the Rizoma ProGuard system has helped secure the levers of Toni Elias on his road to championship success in the inaugural Moto2 season. The example above was on an attractive Rizoma-enhanced BMW S1000RR, but the lever guards are not limited to sports bikes, they were also visible on Yamaha's FZ8.  The patented design can tilt up to 10 degrees providing full lever coverage and can be added by simply replacing the bike's existing bar-ends.
