BMW Other description

2013 BMW K1600GTL, The BMW K1600GTL is at the top of a very exclusive list when it comes to luxury touring motorcycles, setting new standards for performance, comfort, luxury and safety. After BMW perfected their new six-cylinder engine, they built a brand new motorcycle around it. The liquid / oil-cooled 1649cc inline six-cylinder engine is powerful, compact and efficient. The engine produces 160 bhp and 129 ft-lbs of torque. A new electronic E-gas throttle can be set to three different power modes. A six-speed gearbox and enclosed shaft drive send power to the six-inch wide rear wheel. The BMW Paralever rear suspension system and Dynamic Traction Control insure maximum power is transferred to the road. The Duolever front suspension system provides precise steering control and stability. Both front and rear suspension systems are fully adjustable using the advanced Electronic Suspension Adjustment system (ESA II). The K1600GTL introduced an innovative safety feature, the Adaptive Headlight. Previously, a motorcycle's headlight beam remained fixed in same the direction as the front wheel. At road speeds, turns are accomplished by leaning in the direction of the turn and the front wheel and headlight remain aimed straight. The adaptive headlight senses the lean and aims itself in the direction of the turn instead following the front wheel, allowing the headlight to illuminate the road in the direction the motorcycle is traveling. The K1600GTL is also equipped with a LED taillight, white LED turn signals and LED fog lights. BMW's Integral Anti-Lock Braking System (I-ABS) provides safe and controllable stopping power. Rider and passenger comfort is a top priority on the K1600GTL. The driver seating area is slimmer and the handlebars extend far back to allow a more comfortable driving posture. The passenger seating area is wider and features a comfortable padded backrest. Both seats are heated, as are the handgrips. A comprehensive multi-functional display and an on-board computer provide important and useful information to the driver, including tire pressure. A multi-controller allows fingertip control of on-board systems. Electronic cruise control, comfort footrests, an auxiliary power socket, and a power adjustable comfort windshield make long rides even more enjoyable. The audio system on the K1600GTL includes a radio tuner and a Sirius-XM satellite radio receiver (with a one year subscription). The system is Bluetooth compatible, and has iPod and USB interfaces, an auxiliary audio input and GPS preparation. Dual color-matched side cases and a large top case with a luggage rack provide plenty of carrying capacity. The chrome body kit adds a bit of flair. A single immobilizer key, central locking system and anti-theft alarm system are included.
