BMW Reports 2012 Sales Results

BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.

EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW R1200RT Revealed

We confess, the BMW R1200RT was a glaring omission from our list of top 10 motorcycles to watch at EICMA. There are so many new bikes coming out at the 2013 EICMA show, it was hard enough to narrow it down to just 10, but that doesn’t excuse us forgetting BMW is adding another model powered by the new R1200GS‘ liquid-cooled boxer engine. 2014 BMW K1600GTL Exclusive Outed in CARB Documents

Earlier this summer, BMW announced its 2014 six-cylinder K1600GT including a new variant called the K1600GT Sport. A new document released by the California Air Resources Board reveals the more luxurious K1600GTL may be getting its own special variant as well. CARB released a new executive order for its 2014 K16 models including the K1600GTL Exclusive alongside the regular K1600GTL and the K1600GT.
