2006 BMW K , There are many things that you can say about this bike. It is aggressive, stable, unique, involving, direct, emotional and very, very powerful. Mechanically the R is similar in most ways to the K1200S. The 1157cc, dohc, 16-valve engine is internally unchanged, with oversquare 79mm x 59mm dimensions, 13:1 compression and a dry-sump bottom end. The 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system also comes straight from the S-model, complete with a large silencer exiting on the bike's right side. Bonhams To Auction Bruce Smith Collection Of Original Illustrations

On October 20, Bonhams will be auctioning off a collection of original illustrations by Bruce Smith from the 1960s and 1970s. Each one will be signed by Smith on heavy cartridge paper. The collection is comprised of cutaway illustrations of a 1963 Royal Enfield Interceptor 750cc, Chris Vincent’s 1964 BSA 650cc A65 Race Outfit, and a 1966 Greeves Racer, the largest of this series being 45cm x 62cm.

2013 BMW R1200GS Deliveries Delayed to Fix Suspension Issue

BMW has reportedly delayed delivers of the revamped R1200GS in Italy to correct a problem with its Telelever front suspension. According to Motociclismo.it, BMW discovered a problem where the Telelever meets the steering plate. BMW reportedly has a fix, but it requires some special tooling.

The U.S. motorcycle industry saw a 4.6% decrease in year-on-year sales over the first six months of 2011, thanks mostly to a 17.3% drop in ATV sales. Motorcycle and scooter sales however saw a 1.7% bump in the first half .
