2005 BMW R1200rt , 2005 BMW R1200RT with 40k miles and many upgrades.Stock bike comes from factory with cruise control,heated grips,electronic suspension,servo assisted brakes. 110hp 6spd transmission. Upgrades are,custom Rick Mayer seat (stock one is garbage) larger windshield,longer shifter peg and brake pegs,powder coated blacked out wheels(makes cleaning them a breeze), jet hot coated header pipe black to match wheels,Leo Vince exhaust that takes weight off and gives a better sound (not obnoxious). This bike has never been beat on or seen triple digits on the speedometer under my watch. BMW Concept Ninety Marks Motorrad’s 90th Anniversary and 40 Years of BMW R90S
Fri, 24 May 2013BMW revealed a new concept to mark the company’s 90th year in the motorcycle business while also paying tribute to a classic: the BMW R90S. (UPDATED with video.) The product of a collaboration between the BMW Motorrad Design studio and Roland Sands Designs, the BMW Concept Ninety will be displayed alongside other classic BMW motorcycles at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, May 24-26 in Italy. The Concept Ninety carries many styling cues from the R90S, BMW’s classic superbike.
2013 BMW C600 Sport Fairing Recall Extended to US
Mon, 10 Dec 2012Last week, Transport Canada issued a recall on the 2013 BMW C600 Sport due to a risk of the scooter’s side fairings coming loose at high speeds. The recall has now reached the U.S., with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announcing a recall. According to documents released by NHTSA, the three “snap-lock” fasteners securing the left and right side trim panels may not have sufficient strength to hold the fairing in place at speeds higher than 100 mph.
NHTSA Fines BMW $3 Million for Late Recall Reporting
Mon, 13 Feb 2012BMW has agreed to pay civil penalties of $3 million for failing to report safety defects in a timely manner to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. By U.S. federal law, manufacturers are required to notify NHTSA of safety defects or noncompliance issues within five days of discovering the issue.
