BMW Other description

2005 BMW R 1200 ST, For the sport-tourers who love the Boxer and don't want to skimp on the sport or the touring! I have loved this bike for the 3+ years I owned it, it's extremely easy to ride and a heckuva lot of fun. Taking the twisties, packing the bags for a week or more, or commuting in town, it's as close as you can get to a do-everything bike, less the off-road of the GS series! Excellent condition, 43933 miles with ABS standard and a ton of extras: Wilbers shocks Remus titanium exhaust - headers and silencer BMW System hard bags (keyed to the ignition key) Slimmer city lids for the side bags - hard to find! Givi Monokey luggage rack Givi Business Case (perfect for laptop-toting commuters!) Custom Corbin seat, both sections Carbon fiber accents on tank and instrument cluster BMW roundel on rear fender/splashguard If desired, also available/included are the original stock exhaust/headers/silencer as well as the original stock luggage rack. It's been very well-cared-for. Service-wise, it was kept up-to-date and the only hands other than mine (& my riding buddy's who owned it before me) that touched it during the years either of us owned it were BMW shops like Irv Seaver and New Century, for the major services etc. It's in excellent overall condition, hasn't been dropped or crashed, but isn't without a cosmetic blemish or two from years & use: a couple of scuffs on the side bags from boots and being carried around etc., a worn edge on the Corbin seat from mounting/dismounting, etc. I'm more than happy to take closeup photos of anything requested to send via email or post here, and will be glad to do anything possible to arrange an inspection for those who are local or may be local in the near future. It just had a Major Service w/annual done in May of this year at 42,998 miles, which included a full ABS brake system flush. The Michelin PR3 on the rear is 3100 miles old, and the Michelin PR2 on the front is 6000 miles old - the tread on both look solid. For those in CA, the registration was just renewed last month. Bike is sold As-Is, with no warranty explicit or implied. I do have it listed elsewhere so this ad can be cancelled at any time. I've done some research on the asking price so I've tried to price it attractively given the aftermarket extras installed but I'm willing to entertain other reasonable offers of course. You'll be responsible for pickup or making arrangements for shipping, but I am more than happy to assist in any way I can. Asking $6,500.00 9092174387

2014 WSBK – Laguna Seca Results

Mon, 14 Jul 2014

Marco Melandri rebounded from last week’s disappointing Portimao round to win Race One at Laguna Seca while Tom Sykes extended his championship lead with a win in a red-flagged Race Two. Melandri got taken out of the second Portimao race after his Aprilia teammate Sylvain Guintoli slid into his RSV4. Melandri looked eager to make up for that DNF, leading every lap of Race One on his way to his third win of the season.

Fake motorcycle police. Why?

Tue, 17 Jan 2012

People who like to pretend they're police baffle me and annoy me in equal measure. I took this picture the other day at Cobham, about to join the A3 heading to Guildford. I guessed that the guy on the left had just bought his rather fetching BMW off the guy on the right.
