EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW R1200RT Revealed

We confess, the BMW R1200RT was a glaring omission from our list of top 10 motorcycles to watch at EICMA. There are so many new bikes coming out at the 2013 EICMA show, it was hard enough to narrow it down to just 10, but that doesn’t excuse us forgetting BMW is adding another model powered by the new R1200GS‘ liquid-cooled boxer engine. USA Four Corners Tour Tracked On Google Earth

Ain’t technology amazing? In 2010, Bill Royal and his friend Larry, both members of the Iron Butt Association, decided to take part in the USA Four Corners Tour, sanctioned by the Southern California Motorcycling Association. He logged the trip on his GPS and later uploaded it to Google Earth.

2011-2013 BMW F800GS and F700GS Recalled in Canada

Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2011-2013 BMW F800GS and the 2013 F700GS because of a problem with the kickstand ignition cut-off switch. The switch is designed to turn off the engine when the stand is down and the motorcycle is shifted into gear; this prevents the motorcycle from being ridden with the kickstand deployed. On certain BMW F800GS and F700GS models however, the cut-off switch can loosen and become damaged.
