Hard-shell bags have a only a couple of small boot scuff marks that could be buffed out. There has been one static drop on this bike (pics show minimal result)

Photos 11 & 12 show the minor damage on the lower fairing and lower hard bag.
Photos 9 &10 show the minor boot scuffs.

The display shows brake failure, this is NOT so. The original break pads for '08 & '09 only (because they were a bad design/unreliable) had embedded brake wear sensors. EBC brake pads are $40.00 a set Vs $116 for the BMW pads with the sensor wire. I visually inspect the wear on the brake pads and replace them when they are worn down. The dealer can reset the light.

Aprilia Takes a Shot at BMW [video]

Tue, 22 Jun 2010

The very successful viral video BMW created for its S1000RR sportbike earlier this year has yet again been made fun of by another manufacturer, this time being Aprilia with their RSV4.  Now I am sure its not going to get the same amount of attention as the BMW spot but I love a good cat fight, hopefully BMW will respond…  stay tuned. Ohlins Issues Recall Notice For BMW S1000RR And R1200R Steering Dampers

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Ohlins is issuing a recall notice for select aftermarket steering dampers for the BMW S1000RR and R1200R. The company believes the bracket holding the damper in place to be improperly machined, and a probable material defect in the aluminum alloy could cause stress fractures. Ohlins states that although “there is no risk for losing control during normal riding,” there is a risk the bracket will fail during slow-speed maneuvers, where the bars are turned at maximum steering angle.
