BMW F-Series description

White 2013 F800GT. This bike is very clean (never down) and very quick with just over 12K miles on it. Loaded with factory options as well as a host of additional accessories. I bought this bike last year after selling my K1200LT and am finding the bike is too small for my older aching body. I have added many accessories for safety and comfort but realize at 6'2" and 240 lbs. I need a larger machine. See attached photos for details.

Standard features:

ABS - Anti-lock Brake System
ACS - Automatic Stability Control
ESA - Electronic Suspension Adjustment
TMP - Tire Pressure Monitor
Centerstand
Multifunction Computer Display
Heated Handgrips

Added features:

GIVI keyless entry saddlebags with custom mounting system
Red/Amber Running/Brake/Directional lighting kit for GIVI saddlebags (replaces standard reflectors)
Denali Soundbomb air horn
Madstad adjustable windshield
Rigid high intensity (6 LED) running lights
Suburban peg lowering kit (removable if not needed)
BMW High comfort seat or Standard height seat (choose one)
Side stand foot (for added stability on uneven or soft ground)
Nelson Rigg half cover that protects windshield, instruments and seat
Battery charging pigtail

Tires have 50% left on them. 12K service just performed including replacing front and rear brake fluid. There are some scratch marks (probably from keys) around ignition switch, from previous owner. Also the left heated grip appears to have been repaired (works fine). There is a minor chip on the lower left fender that has been touched up. Hard to see in last picture. Bike for sale locally so mileage will increase a little. US and Canadian sales only.

2011-2013 BMW F800GS and F700GS Recalled in Canada

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2011-2013 BMW F800GS and the 2013 F700GS because of a problem with the kickstand ignition cut-off switch. The switch is designed to turn off the engine when the stand is down and the motorcycle is shifted into gear; this prevents the motorcycle from being ridden with the kickstand deployed. On certain BMW F800GS and F700GS models however, the cut-off switch can loosen and become damaged.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).
