I am selling a 2103 Aprilia SR 50 Factory Ditect 50cc Scooter with some engine work. I had the motor rebuilt to 70cc and added a lot of other little goodies to go with that to help it run better and it does. It was done by High Gain Tuning who specializes in these scooters. This is one of the most hi-tect racing scooters in the the world with both front and rear disk brakes, active digital instrument panel with a analog rev counter and a large LCD display for fuel level, coolant temp, clock, odometer, dual trip counters, journey time, maximum speed and complete diagnostic system. It weights 203 lbs as it will 55mph. It will achieve 100 mpg around town. The advanced technology that Aprilia has developed in years of world championship racing is all concentrated in this amazing 50 cc scooter.

Piaggio Reports Q3 2012 Results

The Piaggio Group reported a 9.1% decrease in net sales over the first nine months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, thanks in large part to a strong decline in the European market for two-wheelers. According to Piaggio‘s third quarter 2012 report, the Italian manufacturer recorded 706.3 million euros (US$913.8 million) in motorcycle and scooter sales, compared to 777.2 million in sales over the same period of 2011. The Piaggio Group, which also includes the brands Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa and other brands, sold 321,300 motorcycles and scooters in the first nine months of 2012, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5% from 2011.

Melandri Signs with Aprilia WSBK Team

Marco Melandri has signed a one-year contract to race with Aprilia‘s factory World Superbike team to ride the RSV4 for the 2014 season. The Ravenna, Italy, native will join the returning Sylvain Guintoli, taking the place of Eugene Laverty on the factory team. The move also reunites Melandri with Aprilia; Melandri raced three seasons on an Aprilia RSV250 in the 250cc Grand Prix championship, winning the title in 2002 for his first, and so far, only world title.

Vespa 946 Production Model Confirmed for North America

Piaggio confirmed it will be importing the production version of its Vespa 946 (a.k.a. the “Quarantasei“) to North America, representing the next generation of scooters from the iconic Italian brand. The 946 was presented alongside the Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Moto Guzzi California 1400 at Piaggio’s North American dealer meeting last week in Miami.
