Used, with low miles (less than 4000) for a 2004.  This particular Aprilia model was almost $18K new back in 2004.  The Factory is unlike the other RSV 1000 models.  This model has OZ forged (not cast) aluminum wheels, solo seat section (no passenger seat pad or foot pegs), Ohlins fully adjustable suspension front and back, Ohlins steering damper, LOTS of carbon fiber parts (front/rear fenders, intake covers, side panels, fairing intakes, heel guards, muffler hangers, upper chain guard).  Bike has Akrapovic stainless down pipes (no cats), with Delkevic carbon fiber slip-ons and stainless midpipes, db killers removed, so they're nice and open.  Brembo full-floating front rotors with radial calipers, full stainless steel lines for brakes and clutch.  Replaced the stock clear windscreen with a Puig dark-tinted double bubble, and redid the stock seat in black suede with tri-color stitching.  Has new Dunlop tires (120/70, 190/50).  I've owned lots of v-twins (Ducati Superlight, Yamaha Bolt, several Moto Guzzis, BMW, etc), but this RSV is flat out the fastest and best handling v-twin I've ever owned.  Would like to see it go to someone who will ride it the way it's supposed to be ridden, and will appreciate what a unique bike this is:  60-degree v-twin; slipper clutch; 57mm throttle bodies; ram air with stepper valve; 140hp, 400 lbs dry weight; magnesium valve covers and clutch cover; 11.8:1 compression; dry sump lubrication; double-sided banana swingarm; 6-speed close-ratio transmission; etc.  Truth in advertising:  I had a low-speed (less than 20mph per the police report) high-side at the end of Jan (new tires), and worked with a local Aprilia shop to get it fixed.  Didn't have collision coverage at the time, so all the repairs came out of my pocket.  I sourced several parts on my own, to include replacement body work, frame sliders, mirrors, bar-end weights, and some other assorted parts, in order to save some money.  Damage was on the left side only, mainly cosmetic (per the repair estimate), but also replaced the clutch lever, left-side handlebar, gear shift, and foot peg.  Bought a Triumph Tiger while my RSV was in the shop, and found that bike to be a LOT more comfortable to ride, thus my decision to sell the RSV.  Bought a 2016 Triumph Street Twin (great bike!), so the RSV's gotta go.  Reason for selling this bike is it's just too uncomfortable for me to ride, being 56 years old.  I rode the Tiger for an hour and half recently, and felt fine afterwards.  Hopped on the RSV, and after about 10 minutes, my wrists and shoulders started to get sore, due to the position of the clip-ons.  Being 56, I guess I have to finally admit I'm past my sportbike riding days!  I have a loan on it thru Langley Federal Credit Union, so they have the title, which will be sent after loan is paid off and processed.  Last time I did this it took about two weeks to get the title, which I signed off and forwarded to the new owner.  Payment types accepted are bank checks and cashier's checks, no PayPal or personal checks.  Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, with payment in full prior to pickup.  Bike is located in Newport News (VA) if buyer wants to pick it up.

Aprilia unveils RSV4 R FW-GP sportbike with technical solutions from the world of MotoGP

Wed, 07 Dec 2016

On the New Year’s Eve, the company from Noale announced the launch of a new customer program for its racing division and removed the cover from four different variants of the RSV4 “sport liter” at once. At the same time, if the first three, in fact, are machines “cut down” to meet the technical regulations of the competition (two superstocks with different degrees of “roasting” RSV4 R FW-SSTK1 and RSV4 R FW-SSTK2, as well as a superbike RSV4 R-FW SBK), then the fourth , RSV4 R FW-GP, is something special. The new Aprilia is actually created on the basis of a road bike, with an implanted engine from the RS-GP 15 grand prix car.
