2007 Aprilia Rxv 550, Don't pass up this chance to own this rare Italian exotic dirt motorcycle. The RXV (imported only in 07-09.), is one of the most powerful enduro machines every made. With 70bhp from its 550 V-twin power plant, there are few bikes out there that can match its performance. Weighing in at 268lb dry, its within 10lbs of the more mundane enduros like a KTM 500, 525, 530 EXC, or Yamaha WR450 but with significantly more power. This bike is also plated and is a blast to ride on the road, a must for hooking together interrupted sections of dirt. Best of all, this bike is fuel injected, no more re-jetting, or adjusting needles as you ride from the valley floor to the top of the highest western peaks (Ive ridden up to 11,000 with flawless fueling). And the RXV features electric start (the happy button is wonderful). This bike is expertly setup for enduro and is in need of nothing. Payen seems to have started a trend as British MotoGP team Paul Bird Motorsports has signed a sponsorship deal with erotic movie website MinxFlix.com. The website will back PBM’s Michael Laverty and Yonny Hernandez who will ride on CRT machines featuring Aprilia V4 engines and its own proprietary chassis developed with builder GPMS.
Melandri Signs with Aprilia WSBK Team
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Marco Melandri has signed a one-year contract to race with Aprilia‘s factory World Superbike team to ride the RSV4 for the 2014 season. The Ravenna, Italy, native will join the returning Sylvain Guintoli, taking the place of Eugene Laverty on the factory team. The move also reunites Melandri with Aprilia; Melandri raced three seasons on an Aprilia RSV250 in the 250cc Grand Prix championship, winning the title in 2002 for his first, and so far, only world title.
2014 Aprilia RSV4 WSBK Livery Revealed – The Silver Fireball
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Aprilia waited until just a few days before the start of the 2014 World Superbike Championship to reveal the livery on its RSV4 Superbike. Most of the other factory teams revealed their liveries weeks ago, but now that we’ve seen the “silver fireball” look the RSV4, we can say the wait was worth it. The new silver look replaces the predominantly red and black look used the past few seasons.
